Sauced Sauce

I have never made Vodka Sauce before. Heck, I've never even eaten it before! So I decided to make it after a friend kept telling me how much he loves it. So here goes.
This is a Super Easy recipe!!!!
And don't worry- this won't get you "sauced" like the title implies. LOL

Ingredients: one whole white onion, 1/4 cup butter, two 28 oz. cans of crushed tomatoes, one cup of vodka and one pint of heavy cream.

Step one: chop the onion, then saute in butter over medium until slightly brown and transparent.

Then add the vodka, and simmer for about 10 minutes more.

Next, add the two cans of tomatoes, then simmer for a half hour.

Lastly, add the cream, then cook for another half hour.

After the cream is added, you can boil some penne, and cook some chicken, or shrimp (whatever you like) to have along with this.
I sauteed some chicken to have with mine.

That's it!
Some fresh basil would have really taken this to another level, but I forgot to grab some. So I just sprinkled some grated Parmesan over it.

Enjoy!

A New Year, and some old food :)

Wow, how did 2012 go by so quickly?!?
I'm pretty sure I completely lost track of time over the last couple of months. Thanksgiving and Christmas were big cooking days for me, so it was tough to take photos, I'll try to do better this year.
To make up for it, I posted a few pics below of things I did make while I was gone. Enjoy.
And sit tight, and get excited for 2013. I know I am!
